Tanath originally started the game around 1994. He discovered Amtgard in a Coppell newspaper, and joined a park in that area. After two trips to the field, the group seemed to have disbanded. Or maybe Tanath got the day wrong. Who really knows???
About 4 years later, while looking for a Dungeons and Dragons group at a game store in St. Louis, Tanath found a flier for "Amtgard, Shire of Western Gate". The Shire (Now Duchy) was only a few months old.
Tanath has been quoted in this article about Amtgard in his local newspaper.

- It is not a notable accomplishment to 'OWN' Tanath. For the list of his owners grows daily.
- Tanath joined the peerage as a Knight of the Flame on September 15, 2007.
- Capable of giving very rousing, Braveheart-esque speeches before battle.
- Had his Nose made to bleed and perhaps broken by Kaio March '08 ... Sorry too.
- Takee is his ever-suffering significant other.
- Runs an internet radio show on Wednesday nights; The Live Action Radio Program. It's now a show exclusively about Amtgard.
