• Storm Grove in Ft. Smith, Arkansas begins to experiment with a fighter Practice.

Celestial Kingdom

• Allthing agenda items due to the Kingdom Prime Minister Sylvanista in the Celestial Kingdom on Saturday the 6th.
• On the fourth of July the Celestial Kingdom Monarchy will walk in the Round Rock frontier days parade. Participants need to be in line by 9 a.m. (8am if you want to be included in the parade contest.) The parade will start in Round Rock at First Texas Bank (corner of Lee Street and Round Rock Ave) and will proceed through Historic Downtown Round Rock ending at the Sam Bass Little League Baseball Fields.

• July 5th Truevale in Rock Springs, Wyoming will hold their local Dragonmaster competition.

The Kingdom of Dragonspine

• Sea of Rhye in Smithfield, Virginia will hold their Crown Qualifications on Sunday.
• On July 6th Twin Moons in Buffalo, New York holds Crown Tourney as well as the A&S competition

The Kingdom of the Wetlands

• July 5th; Second Annual Bardic Bash will be held in the Wetlands.
• Wetlands Relic Quest will be held on July 6th in Wallisville, TX. GMR Porthos will be the autocrat.

The Kingdom of Neverwinter

• July 5th - 6th Kingdom Elections for Neverwinter. The candidates for monarch are Sir Auwyne and Squire Squire. Votes to be submitted to the KPM Nocturne by no later than July 7th at midnight.
• Neverwinter, although a Floating Crown, is also looking for a new Kingdom Seat.

• Thundering Rivers in Elkhart, Indiana, King Clyde has called an emergency Kingdom Allthing to be held July 6th at Woodlawn Naturn Center 604 Woodlawn Ave Elkhart, IN 46514. In reguards to the former Prime Minister stabbing a park member with an ink pen and the Baron took no action. All are welcome to attend as it is an open meeting.
• Freeman's Forest in Huber Heights, Ohio will hold their Weaponmaster and Midreign on Saturday.
• July 6th Voting for officers of Western Gate in St Louis, Missouri ends at midnight.
• Springfield, Missouri chapter Knoblands will hold a feast on July 6. Succulent roasted fowls will be provided, vie one with with the other for the vacated post of champion in a tourney, and bring forth thine treasures created for judging.
• July 6th Gryphon's Perch will hold their Weaponmaster/ Dragon Master

• On Saturday at Dragon's Forge in Oregon City, Oregon will have a Battlegame Day and Kingdom Althing.
• July 6th Blackspire will hold their Ithra at Greenwood Keep in Lacey, Washington. Classes will include arrow builds and Heraldry creation.

• CGBOD Meeting will held on Saturday.

Rakis 08

A brief synopsis of Rakis.

Showed up about 10pm Wed evening. I coasted through the gate process in style with my Amtcard!

Thursday ditching was fun. Friday Ditching was better. Saturday jugging was jugging with the usual run of emotions but the fighting seemed quite clean from my perspective. I missed the battle games due to assisting with various things like feast and what not. Dragon said the main battle game was ok but a bit out of whack and unbalanced.

Dragon also got his monster on for the RP tavern and said that was a good time. Lit ditching at Rakis is not what it used to be. I don’t think I saw a body on the field and that is a sad thing.

For me Rakis is a chance to visit our parent kingdom, see numerous friends and make new ones. On that front Rakis did not disappoint. Additionally it is a chance for me to help out from time to time without the pressure of making sure the event runs smoothly. I take my hat off to the individuals who busted their butts so I could kick it and enjoy.

I recognize that the cost of gas is impacting the travel to events and this clearly has an impact on attendance. Yet we still managed to see people drive from both coasts to make this event. For me the event was that much better both the Florida and California gangs each made the event more enjoyable.

• Zumat and his irrational fear of the BK King manifesting in BK crowns the whole weekend culminating in his capture at his court by the King himself.

• RP Tavern and ditch field keeping peeps happy.

As Desert Winds evolves from a principality under the amazing leadership and support of the Iron Mountains to our own collective of dedicated individuals and hopefully our own kingdom very soon. Rakis will always be one of those events I look forward to. Lets face it cutting my teeth on IK events and making a number of friends that make the effort to travel and visit us has really made this an event not to miss for me and my clan.
