• Querna Tema is off to the printers this week, running off copies of the new rulebook for their dues paid members.
• Imperial Coronation to be held.
• Rivermoor announces their Collegium to be held Jan 31st, at Ponca State Park.

Goldenvale

• Ravenwing in Brantford, ON holds Raven's Frost, their Coronation Event.

Dragonspine

• Crimson Sanctum plans a visit to Siar Geata on January 10th.

Wetlands

• An open Knight's Circle Meeting is held. Contact Chewie for details.
• Thalen declares for the office of Prime Minister, sighting malfeasance on the part of the perviously elected officials. The debate rages on the kingdom mailing list.
• Weapon and Dragon master for the kingdom will be held in Lake charles, Louisiana at Prien Lake Park. This is not Crimson Moon's Usually meeting place.

Neverwinter

• Crying Heavens once located in Miami, Florida talks about restarting on their list.
• Neverwinter must chose to delay their midreign or hold it at an alternate site.

Blackspire

• Jeargo, steward of the crown has spent the last few weeks visiting several chapters, despite serious snowfall and icy conditions.
• On Saturday Prime Minister Elections are held in Northern Lights.

Rising Winds

• King Thorvald visits Cordis Medegar St.Charles, MO on saturday.
• Western Gate in St, Louis Missouri will hold their midreign and masque this Saturday. They have invited Falcon Tor, Heartland, and Phoenix Tears to attend. Dragonmaster Judging will begin at 5:30pm.

Crystal Groves

• Solstice and Bandit Flats East will hold a joint coronation this Saturday, January 10th at a site in Bowie, Maryland.

Desert Winds

• Desert Rose Releases their Dragonmaster results Shauna in first place with a 5.8 average, Cole in second with a 5.45, Vexx in 3rd at 4.29, and Red Thorn in 4th with 3.32.

Freeholds

• Centerpoint has been accepted into the principality of Rivermoor. the Core of Iron Mountain's leadership has two weeks to veto their decision.
• A new chapter, Elemental Fields was founded in Waterloo, Illinois. That makes them less than and hour drive from Western Gate, Rolling Hills of Baal, and Cordis Medagar. Best way to contact them is through their yahoo group. The chapter has been active for some time as foster group of Cursed Prairie, but only yesterday decided to seek status as their own chapter.
• Stormfront is founded in Grand Island, Nebraska. They can also be contacted at their yahoo group. The nearest established chapters are Ivory Tower, Querna Tema, and Gehenna Plains.
• Pekannott Rois in Pleasanton, Texas holds their midreing celebrations.

• January 9-10, 2009 Demo at Shadow Con also special SCA guests King and Queen of Gleann Abhann and King and Queen of Meridies

Tides of War

Only weeks after the position of King was usurped, war has broken out within the new Kingdom of the Desert Winds. Each province has staked out a territory and are currently entrenching themselves within their borders. Monarch’s have chosen champions to watch over their borders and repel attacks from other provinces. The king himself has begun selling lands to the highest bidders to allow for better protection of the serfs and commoners within his lands.

New reports are coming out that spell for disaster within the kingdom however. The land owners seem to each have a hidden agenda and squabbling has ensued. People are buying lands so they can create armies of their own and try their hand at conquest. It seems diplomacy has fallen apart in these trying times, and due to the harsh winter conditions, fighting has broken out amongst the different land owners in each province. Will this tear the newly formed kingdom apart? Or will it bring the kingdom under one rulership with “Iron Hand” policies?

With the auctioning of lands almost complete it is hard to say who will be the person holding all the cards once the gauntlet is finally dropped. All we can hope for is a chance to keep the daily workings of the fair kingdom from being thrown into upheaval over this struggle for power.
